About the MASOC Fall Conference

To celebrate our 40th anniversary year, MASOC’s conference theme is going back to our core beliefs and mission:

• children and adolescents with harmful sexual behaviors are unique in their needs
• their contexts change as they grow and develop
• with the right skills, resources, and structures, they can grow into adulthood with the skills and assets to live positive, abuse-free lives.

This year’s workshops focus on a comprehensive, developmental approach to assessment, treatment, and resourcing of not just young people, but their families and communities, in addition to clinical modalities and tools.

Workshops can include:

• Children and adolescents from early childhood through late adolescence/emerging adulthood (22-24)
• Work with families and caregivers, educators, and other providers working with young people
• Direct client work, tools for professionals, systemic interventions, and organizational policy and practice
• Primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention

Submission information:

• All sessions are 90 minutes. The conference committee will consider proposals for 2-part presentations that delve deeply into particular skills and topics. Please submit as two separate workshops, indicating how each segment is organized.
• Participants consistently prefer workshops which have either an interactive component or an applied, research-to-practice segment

Presenters receive:

• Free conference registration for lead presenter and up to 1 co-presenter, with discount rate for additional co-presenters, including free CEs
