Resources

MASOC curates a newsletter, listserv and policy papers to keep providers updated on the practices and issues that matter most.

Newsletter – Translating Research into Practice

MASOC’s monthly newsletter is intended for professionals who treat young people with problematic sexual behaviors. The newsletter is easy to read and short enough to digest over that first cup of coffee in the morning. Topics have included:

  • Racial disparities associated with the child’s or accused’s race
  • Online sexual harassment
  • Childhood community risk factors on intimate partner violence perpetration among college students
  • What we know about girls with problematic sexual behaviors
  • Prevalence and risk in adolescents for stalking and harassment

Professional Listserv

Our professional listserv is a free network of clinicians who serve youth with problematic sexual behaviors. This work can be isolating, and this listserv enables conversations around challenges and barriers faced by these youth and families, exchange of ideas about current research and best practices, and resource sharing for education and networking.

Massachusetts & National Resources

MASOC has compiled a list of resources in Massachusetts and nationwide for families, providers and young people who need support.

Recorded Webinars

In partnership with Massachusetts Children’s Alliance (MACA), MASOC has produced numerous free, professional webinars in the last several years. Webinars cover topics including:

  • Legislative efforts to stop putting adolescents on the offender registry
  • Sex, power and assault on campuses
  • LGBTQ+ youth, sexual behavior and juvenile justice
  • Assessment of problematic sexual behavior in children
  • Cultural competence in clinical settings for youth with problematic sexual behaviors
