Introduction to the M-CAAP: An assessment protocol for children and youth engaging in PSB

with Phil Rich, EdD, LICSW

This Lunch and Learn presentation provides an overview of the M-CAAP (Massachusetts Child and Adolescent Assessment Protocol), a comprehensive model for evaluating children and youth engaging in PSB. This overview covers its development, its purpose, structure, content, and application. We also talk about the practical realities of M-CAAP/ASAP completion, and there is time for discussion throughout the session.

For those in Massachusetts, the Massachusetts DCF (Department of Children and Families) is required to complete an ASAP (Assessment for Safe and Appropriate Planning) for certain child or adolescent problematic sexual behaviors and the M-CAAP is the new and updated protocol for completing the ASAP evaluation.
